Hash, or hashish is very common in the Middle East and Southern Europe, but in the other parts of the world it remains largely unknown. If you are experienced with marijuana you probably familiar with it, you might have smoked it, but do you know how to make it?
What is hash:
As seen in the picture from the header, hash is a dark brown or black color. It can be quite soft (like play dough) or it can be hard. It depends on the quality, freshness and strain of the hash, with better hash usually being softer. The smell is the same as that of weed. To smoke it you can either crumble it up into a joint, or you could roll the hash into a “sausage” and put it in the joint, you can also use a pipe or the hot knife method. Smoking hash will give you a more stoned, body high. The THC in hashish is more concentrated than in weed, therefore less of it will get you more high, because of this hash is generally considered a cheaper way to get high.
How it is made:
Hashish is made from cannabinoid-rich glandular hairs known as trichomes, as well as varying amounts of cannabis flower and leaf fragments. The flowers of a mature female plant contain the most trichomes, though trichomes are also found on other parts of the plant. You need to physically remove the trychomes from the plant. What you will get is a powder, also known as kief, it can also be found in your grinder, but for hash large quantities are needed. The kief is then compressed and heated into blocks of hashish. You probably will not be able to make hash at home, so just enjoy the one you buy from a coffee shop or a dispensary.
