Do you want to step up your cannabis cooking game? Cannabutter is easy and simple to make, but maybe you want something a bit healthier, or you have a recipe that requires you to you to use some oil. If that is the case and you also want to spice up your meal with some cannabis, then cannaoil is the THC infused ingredient you need. What is great about it, is that cannaoil is so versatile. You can put it in your pasta, pizza a salad or any other meal really and it will get you high.
What you will need:
Marijuana – about 3 grams per cup of oil. For this recipe we will be using 6 grams.
Oil – preferably olive oil, but all other work too. For this recipe we will use 2 cups (one cup is 120ml).
Oven – Preheated at 120°C
Airtight container – like a Tupperware
Cooking thermometer – not a must, but good to have
How to make Cannaoil
- Put your weed, evenly, on a backing tray and put it in the preheated oven. It takes about 40 minutes for the weed to be done.
- Put the oil in a sauce pan and heat it up. You have to watch out that it comes close to boiling, but does not boil. This is where a thermometer can come in handy, you want the oil to reach about 95°C. Add the baked weed to the oil and let it cook for 45 minutes.
- After the 45 minutes are up, let the cannaoil cool down a bit. Then Strain it with a fine mesh-sieve and pour it into a bowl or a container.
Now that you have your oil, you can keep it in your fridge for a few months. It is a great substitute for extra virgin olive oil. This means that you can drizzle it on any pasta or salad, but it is probably best no to try and fry something with it, as the weed might lose potency.
